TXT Shifter is Very Stiff
I have a 1999 TXT that the shifter is extreamly hard to opperate. My mother in law uses this cart daily. I sprayed some litheam grease on the brass posts that make the conection and it seams to be a little easyer, but it didn't last. Do you think electric silicone grease will work better? Thanks for you help!

Re: TXT Shifter is Very Stiff
considering how short the shifter is.... its really doesn't take much to make it hard to operate. one thing you might want to consider is a different shifter. here are two I found.

Re: TXT Shifter is Very Stiff
Check this out for Gramma -
This reversing contactor conversion kit will change your shifter to an easy to use rocker switch for directional selection. Go Here > http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Reversing_Contactors.html For you it costs just $5 more than a standard HD Ezgo F&R. It replaces the hard to shift Rotary switch, lever and rods. It is ergonomically correct. (easier to reach and operate) Get positive shifting at the push of a button with the hard push & grind of a 1940s type rotary switch! Gramma will love ya |

Re: TXT Shifter is Very Stiff
Scotty, is there a pic somewhere of the HD Reversing Contactor installed in an EZ-Go TXT Series cart utilizing the OEM F/R bracket? I gotta do this upgrade soon!

G - pm me, we will get this moving. PS your hopped up Ezgo will require the Superduty Contactor which does not fit on the stock bracket but - comes with it's own bracket (shown above) that bolts into the OEM bracket holes. SD contactor requires 3/8th cable lugs. |

Re: TXT Shifter is Very Stiff
ScottyB, I like the idea of the converting it to rocker switch set up. Do you have a pic of it installed in a txt? P.s. I ordered some cables from you for my 09 precedent.

Re: TXT Shifter is Very Stiff
Somebody posted pics of one installed here ....... not sure where?
Not much to see - just imagine your old F&R gone and a shiny new reversing contactor in it's place. I found one but it's not very flattering... |
