Default 1985? marathon three wheel rear end question

Hi new to the carting world I picked up what i believe is a 85 marathon. The electric motor is not responding and I'm thinking about a gas conversion, however all the conversions I've seen have a different rear end setup where the motor ismounted abive the pumpkin. Mine seems to have the motor orientated like a car. How does the motor connect to the rear end input? Is it possible to do a gas conversion on this cart? Does anyone have pics? Thanks hope to get my cart moving before the lake opens this year

tell a few things about it.Would be much easyer to repair what you have if the motor it's self is good.
Should be a resistor cart, simple and easy to fix and maintain.

Find a marathon gas rear axle for 88-94 4-stroke or a mid 80's thru 90' 2-stroke donor cart.

1purpleranger, CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wive's, husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Almost all the electric parts have been scavenged over the years for someone else's carts.I've got basically a frame to work with,I have numerous gas engines laying around along with jackshafts from go karts. I'm just curious if anyone has done a conversion with this style of rear end
