Default Copper contacts

I recently had to change the speed control wiper board and the movable copper contact on my marathon. Everything went together super easy. Now I am running into problems. I used the old jam nuts and lock washers because the new board did not come with any. I torqued down on them until they were pretty tight. The nuts will not stay tight. They will sag down and touch each other. This causes the cart to move even without pushing the pedal. My first attempt at fixing I tried red lock tite. This didn't work. I then pulled it all apart again and tried using a second jam nut and lock tite. This still didn't work. It's getting to be a pain in the rear. Things are starting to burn and costing me money. Anyone ever run into this problem or have a fix?

There is a white locktite for high heat applications. But I have not experienced the problem you describe? Makes me wonder if poor contact is causing excess heat. Or just too much load - ie : big tires, hills, slow operation etc.

I will have to look for the white. There is some heat going on. I have bigger tires, but it just started this problem after installing the new board. I have 1/0 battery cables and all cables except ones going to the resistors are 1/0. I'm wondering if those smaller wires are getting hot. Also, it does only do it on the slow side.

If I were you with the large tires and it looks like from you sig that you are using the cart off road I would seriously look at converting it to a controller cart.

I feel sorry for that poor resistor/speed control board...that system was never designed to do what you are asking of it. Same problem exists for yamaha g1-g2-g3-g5 electrics, wiper board/resistor system cant do this kind of usage very well.
