Default I have a few issues with a jakes lift kit that I need help on

I need some advice. I finally put on my jakes 5" axle drop lift kit on this past weekend and while doing this I put new bushings in my old spindles. What a pain in the rear getting the kingpins to fit if you don't have a reamer. After doing some filing and some sanding I got them to fit though a little snug. When I went to install the passengers side the front axle holes were really tight I'm guessing due to the paint coating. When it came time to install the drivers side I put a bit of sand paper in the hole just to get a bit of the paint out. The kingpin went in fine and after installing the bolt and tightening it the bolt turns when the spindle turns. My question is is it ok to let it ride like that?

Another question I have is the steering arm adapters that jakes supplies, can the ball joint hole be countersuit a little to get the ball joint to fit better? I put them on but as tight as I dare go I can barely get the c otter pins in the hole.

I don't have the answer to your question, but maybe you should call jakes directly to be sure, of what you do. They will sure have the answer to your question.

That's a good idea. I was holding off on that because I figured I would ask here first since the people seem pretty knowledgeable but due to the lack of responses I just might have to.

Well, just tried to call jakes. After a long hold time the person who might be able to help was out of the office. Lets see if they get back to me.

I cant remember off the top of my head where I bought the kit from, it was from one of the site sponsors. A guy from jakes got back to me just a bit ago. From what he said the spindle assembly should be fine to use like that but I think I'm going to buy a new spindle and kingpin anyway, it would make me feel better. As far as the control arm risers he said I should be able to countersink them without a problem. Why they don't come that way is beyond me. As tight as I could get it I could barely get the c otter pins in.

I should be ordering new spindles sometime today.

12x7 chrome spectres with a 22" all terrain tire. I got them from one of the sponsors on there ebay site. I did a test fit the other day for the first time and they will look really good, but I think the brake pedal arm will hit if the wheel is cocked to the left. Well, I guess I'm not going to brake while I'm turning left.
