Re: Blew up some trojans
Dang, that is a mess.YOU are very lucky sir.I believe I would go buy a lottery ticket if I were you.
I had 1 Interstate blow up on me.I had just put in a set of "rebuilt" batterys from the local interstate dealer in my old 86 3 wheeler.Thank God I put the seat on and sat down on it before I hit the throttle to do a quick go-no go test.BOOM! My head hit the roof and the top of 1 of the batterys was GONE Well,The cart still worked so I drove it to the back yard hose pipe and cleaned it all real good.Took 2 months for them to honor thier warrenty on used batterys. They tryed to tell me I wired the cart wrong.DUH,if the dang thing worked,AFTER the explosion how could it be wired wrong before? What it amounts to is the post seperates from the plates inside where we cant see.Sometimes from that "tapping" we do to get bolts loose or wires over connections.A arc happens and the fumes built up inside the battery cause the boom. |

Re: Blew up some trojans
Whenever ALL the batteries blow up a water fill system is involved. All it takes if the presents of hydrogen gas ( usually present after a full charge) and a spark. Lucky nobody got hurt.

Re: Blew up some trojans
The water fill system was my first thought when I saw the pictures. I would throw that thing away!! Just glad there were no injuries besides the wallet.
