Default what to use for a brake light switch

What switch do I need to get to install on my 1977 Ez-go for brake light operation?
It is stock as far as the brake system except for a rod I had to add for length since I built a extended frame.I put this rod from the pedal backto the piece that used to hook to the pedal.I actually threaded a piece of 5/16ths rod and screwed it into a Model T Ford handbrake adjuster and pinned that to the pedal.

Here is why i ask.I am useing a old Napa 7 wire turn signal switch on the column and it has a white wire to run to the brake light switch.I have the signals working fine. That wire is loose and I can hook 12v to it and the brake lights come on,and the turn signals work as they should.

Only thing I found is I will have to have a toggle switch or something to cut power to the brake lights when I park it and lock the brake pedal.

I used a push horn button and drilled a hole in my brake pedal and mounted it in the pedal works great
all I have to remember is to have my foot over the switch if I want the brake lights to come on.

X's 2....I did this on a cart I had and it worked like a champ. Just make sure to zip tie the wire in several places so it doesn't interfere with the brake mechanism.

What I would use is called a "dead mans switch". It is a switch that closes the circuit if it is released (hence the name) There is one used on MGBs for the brake lights (ask me how I know). It is mounted to the master cylinder. Go here to take a look:

Here is a picture of the switch mounted on an MGB master cylinder. Click on the other pics in this pic to see other pics of the dead mans switch! The third is a solo picture of the switch. Note the 3rd pic the switch would be in the 'closed circuit' position......

Why not a simple plunger switch like used, for years, on cars? They are also available at Radio Shack and other places.

It would keep the lights on when the hill brake was put on. I like the horn button through a hole idea. It is simple and the switches are very cheap if they go bad!
