Clicking/grinding noise in motor
I have an '05 PDS and all of a sudden there is a clicking/grinding noise coming from the motor. What could this be and what is the fix?

Re: Clicking/grinding noise in motor
Might need to pull the motor off of the rear and give us a little more info when you peek inside.
Could have stripped the splines from the shaft or coupling. |

Re: Clicking/grinding noise in motor
do I need to disconnect all of the wiring beforehand or just put it in tow/maintenance mode and is it as simple as removing the 3 bolts that connect it to the transmission case? I am a newbie so please excuse me for my ignorance.
Thanks |

Re: Clicking/grinding noise in motor
does the cart still move? if not it could be a hub you stripped which is very common on the cart so before you take the motor out make sure its not a hub your dealing with..........very uncommon to get that type of noise out of a motor..........just make sure to save yourself a lot of work.............take center caps off hubs and put in gear and while someone is slowly pressing pedal look to see if one of the axles is spinning while the hub is not takes about 5 minutes to find out....................................

Re: Clicking/grinding noise in motor
Cart still moves and seems to run fine with the same power and torque - the clicking noise increases in speed as the cart goes faster no matter if it is in forward or reverse.

Re: Clicking/grinding noise in motor
i would check the hubs before i yanked the motor i have seen them run with a stripped hub so at least take a look and eliminate that...................

Re: Clicking/grinding noise in motor
Take the hubs loose and see if a spring or clip on the brakes has broken. I had to order new springs for a club car once because the springs had gotten hot and streched out. They wouldn't pull tight they would come off inside the hub after I installed them.
