Default 2008 RXV controller vs. 2013 RXV contoller

Anyone know the difference? It's not all that important but I have been stretching a few of our older RXV's and we decided to stretch a 2013-2014. I just noticed the controllers are different. Just curious to see what, or if, anyone knows the difference.

Thanks!!
Cameron

the new one is a Curtis controller, the old one is a Danaher controller, the Danaher has a little bit better low speed torque. The curtis is much more programmable. EZGO seems to be phasing out the danaher, and now offers a retrofit kit to curtis controller. Plus, bigger controller options are on the way for Curtis carts. In my opinion the curtis is better (except for the low speed torque thing, that could be important with a big tire/lifted or very heavy cart). I have a good bit of experience with both, and can answer (or find the answer) most any other questions you have about the two systems.

Thanks cgtech! Just curious to see if there are any different wires or connections or anything like that. But I stripped the cart down today and found that the wires look the same (Besides the stock light kit) So I suppose I answered my own question.

Thanks!

Curtis RXV started mid 2012. Easy way to tell for sure, look at.the heatshield right behind the plastic controller cover, if its black, its curtis, if its raw aluminum, its danaher.

CGTECH,

You always post some good info. I have a question for you. Has anybody figured out the torque problems from a dead stop for the RXV? I would own one but the torque issue is huge to me. When I test drove one it wouldn't climbed a 4" curb, I had to roll back 6" and bump up on it.

Thanks,
Steve

Danaher controller was better for zero speed torque. The curtis can be programmed for better "punch" at zero speed with the level 4 programmer, but, it may make it too "jerky" for everyday use (if you dont want "drag-race" starts when you put the pedal flat on the floor). The AC motor was never known for its zero speed torque compared to a series cart.
