Wrecker
I put the wrecker in the garage yesterday(look under Hookm),I'd like to make it a low rider but have a set of 23 inch tires & wheels so I'm going to lift it 8 inches.I'll have to take the body off & there's about 10 wires in the dash,2 unplug & the rest I don't know,I guess I'll just cut them & splice em back together.I can unbolt everything else.
No pics yet, haven't done anything but clean the garage out for 4 days & put it in,this ought to be an adventure,I've never messed with a sparky. The front reminds me of a VW bus so I'll probably go with that theme.hookm |

Re: Wrecker
Sweet as a lowrider... But it is also very cool as a recovery vehicle. I would recommend upgrading to "solid state", and getting rid of the resistor coils (i think thats what i saw in those pics). More efficient (longer run times), and no high current paths through sliding contacts (can be unreliable, especially for large tire/heavy stuff). For something of that size and weight, nothing smaller than 500 amp should be considered. Has the electrical drivetrain been modified? (like 48v or more?) UP THE VOLTAGE, MUWHAHAHAHAHA...
