There are plenty of aftermarket replacements available as direct bolt-in plug and play. From what I have seen Alltrax makes the most popular units.

I spoke with Controller Test Services today and it sound like a pretty good deal. The fellow I spoke with said that the one for my '05 PDS would be $220compared to $440 for the Alltrax I've had my eye on, both are 400 amp upgrade units. The CTS models come with a 1 year warranty and the Alltrax models have a 2 year warranty. He said nothing bad about the Alltrax and said the biggest or only difference between his and theirs is the Alltrax is programmable.

CTS has a $60 to $100 core charge. But they handle this as you order a new one and it is shipped to you via priority mail, you then have 2 weeks to put you old one in their box and drop it in the mail to be returned to them. In other words, they don't charge your card and then refund it once they get the old one.
He also said I should see about a 20% increase in torque and could see a 2 or 3 mile a hour in speed over my stock unit.

I'm not sure what a stock unit cost from E-Z-GO, but it looks like CTS has a replacement for about $110 if you buy 1 and $100 if you buy 5 or more.

I'm pretty sure CTS is a 1 or 2 guy operation because it has a cell number listed on the website and I got a good comfortable feeling talking to him, I think this is the way I'm going after the warranty goes out on my cart !
