Default Ezgo qe charger

Does any one know if the qe charger with the shorter fins (wave shaped) is better or worse than the black rectangular charger?

I've never owned an EZGO/Powerwise QE charge and never will, but based on the horror stories I've read on this forum, both of the ones mentioned have some reliability issues and the manufacturer won't repair them when they fail.

Do yourself and your batteries a favor and get a DPI Accusense if you want a portable charger or a Quick Charge if you go the on-board route.

I will once the QE fails. I bought 2 carts and am keeping one of them. Was just wondering which charger to keep.

Look on the date codes and keep the newest one! One is made specifically for the RXV, but I don't know which one it is. They are both 13amp.

Depending on what years the carts are, they may have had Trojan (older carts) or US (newer carts) batteries. The charger was programmed for the brand of batts they originally came with. Take this into consideration when deciding which to keep.

This is something that I never understood! I would think if the capacity rating of the batteries is the same, why would charging be any different? I know - - -, I've really opened up a can of worms now!

US batts prefer a little higher finish voltage than Trojan (and have slightly higher SG). They claim the difference between them is slightly different composition of the plates and electrolyte.

That explains it. I just learned something. Not all batteries are created equal! Thanks for the info!!!

CG,
Do the QE chargers programmed for Trojan batteries have a different model number, or other identifier, than those programmed for US Battery batteries?

I will have to look into the part number differences.
