Where to land "Logic Power" wire after new install
I have recently completely rebuilt a 1995 EZ GO and installed new motor, controller, solenoid, FNR switch, and cables. That being said I have wired everything correctly the best I can tell according to the Alltrax wiring diagram. There is one wire that is giving me issues though. It is the "logic power" wire that lands on the run switch and runs back to the charger. Like I said one end is landed on the run switch (MS2) but I don't know where to land the opposite end of this wire. I have tried a couple different spots and it causes BIG sparks. I am getting frustrated at this point because I have $4,000 tied up in this thing and it has not even moved yet. Any help would be very much appreciated. I may have more issues but this wire is definitely a start.

Re: Where to land "Logic Power" wire after new install
Looking the wiring diagram.....the MS2 has 2 wires going to it......one on each side. the wires are different colors (one should be blue, the other is red).......are YOUR wires blue and red? and which one are you having a problem getting connected.

Re: Where to land "Logic Power" wire after new install
After installing my new HD FNR switch I landed the original blue wire that comes from the key switch on MS2, then it came from the factory with a short red wire that is jumpered between MS2 & MS4, then I have another lug on MS2 as well on the same screw that the red jumper is landed on. This is where the blue wire was landed on my old FNR switch but I can't figure out where the other end of it needs to land. I have talk to Alltrax and they are telling me that I don't need the diode or the fuse that the wiring diagram is calling for. I am just ready to hear something click or my new controller light up or something. This has been going on 2 weeks on the phone with the people I ordered this stuff from and still nothing.

Re: Where to land "Logic Power" wire after new install
oh and btw Hoyt......Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!! |

Re: Where to land "Logic Power" wire after new install
Thanks for the warm welcome Sir Nuke. I am new to the buggy world of course. Hence all the trouble and frustration because I can't get my new toy to run. LOL Anyway... YES you are correct. It is landed on the same "spot" as the red jumper. But when I got my new FNR switch I pulled one wire at a time off of the old one and landed on the new HD switch. The wire that was landed there is blue on my buggy and is only about 12" long. I looked at the charging receptacle and there is no where for another wire to land. The + & - wires (black & white) are molded into the receptacle pretty much right under my driver side seat. So the original blue wire that was landed on MS2 isn't long enough to go to the receptacle even if there was a spot. I am an I&E tech by trade so this is really starting to get to me not being able to figure this out. It has to be something simple. I have faith though that I have come to the right place to get it figured out. I already appreciate the feedback.

Re: Where to land "Logic Power" wire after new install
SO what you are saying is that BOTH of the wires on your MS2 are blue? I found another wiring diagram.....
It was posted by our resident HEAVY.... its more specific to your year.....and its a little different than the one I posted above. I have another question first......on your controller....are there 4 LARGE posts, or only three? AND is there a multi wire connector on it or just slip on male spade connectors? ezgo95 wiring diagram.jpg |

Re: Where to land "Logic Power" wire after new install
Looking at this diagram......you should have on MS2 a blue wire going back to the start switch....then a red jumper on the other side that goes to MS3.
on MS3 you have the red jumper from MS2 to MS3.....what other wires are on YOUR MS3? |

Re: Where to land "Logic Power" wire after new install
Yes that is correct. Both wires are blue. My new controller only has 3 large post and the spade connectors. Which means I had to cut the old wiring harnace off that connected to the factory controller and crimp spade connectors on the ends. On the new wiring setup that I am using from Alltrax I don't show an MS3. I see above though that it looks like it was part of the old controller maybe. That may be why the wire is short because it was landed there. The wire terminal on the end of it is a larger one like it was landed on one of the bigger bolts somewhere before. Also on the other side of MS4 I now have a orange wire that goes to spade 4 on the new controller and the red wire from the back up beeper. Which I cut off of the beeper and wire nutted it and the black wire coming from my solenoid together. I assume I can do that too. Don't want to hear that.

Re: Where to land "Logic Power" wire after new install
I do see an MS3 now that I looked but it is in my foot switch. I don't show any wires going from MS2 to MS3 on my diagram. Mine is a 95 Medalist. My MS3 has a red wire that goes to the positive side of the solenoid and also the #1 spade on the controller. Then a green wire going to the key switch.
