TXT wont do nothing
I have a TXT that wont do anything. I have checked the batteries and have 37.4 volts. The accel. switch is good. I was going to try to get the codes out but there is no back up buzzer that I can find and it does not sound when in reverse. I did get to the point to where I was checking voltages at the J1 plug. When I went to plug it back into the controller I got a large spark from pin 5 which should go from the battery positive to the solenoid through the back buzzer then to pin 5. Everything seems good with no shorts. Figuring this is a direct positive from the battery I checked the pin on the controller side and found it goes directly to ground. Should this terminal be grounded or is this a good sign the controller is bad?

Re: TXT wont do nothing
TXT is a body style that EZGO has built from 1996 to present and over those eighteen years, the have built TXT bodies with both Series and Sepex motors and fed those motors with Series, DCS, PDS, VPS and TCT controllers.
If you identify the Year, Body style and Controller, when you post questions, it saves time since all or part of that information is needed to answer most questions. Also, your battery packs SoC is only 77%, so they ought to be charged. ----------- I have a PDS cart, and putting together a few clues in your statements, I suspect you have one also. The beeper is physically located behind the panel the keyswitch and direction selector are mounted in. A previous owner may have unplugged it. The best way to quieten the beeper down is covering the hole the sound comes out of with electrical tape. If you got a big spark on J1 Pin-5, it sounds like J1 was unplugged and/or plugged in with the Run/Tow switch in the Run position, so that might have taken out the controller. Here is a schematic for a PDS |

Re: TXT wont do nothing
Ok I think I made progress??? The date code is E1607 which would make it a 2007? I have also located the back up buzzer and reconnected it but it did not work. I checked for voltage and found none. I did have the batteries disconnected for a few minutes thinking it might reset the controller. When I reconnected the pos cable I got a large spark. This happened with the key on and off both in run and tow mode. Yes it is a PDS...So next I checked for shorts starting at the controller. All 3 terminal B+, B-, and A-1 read ground to the chasis? I disconnected the battery cable again and after a few minutes these terminals were no longer reading to ground? I do have a controller that is borrowed but don't want to hook it up yet, I would hate to have to buy 2 because I missed something.

Re: TXT wont do nothing
These controllers will spark when powered up if you do not precharge them. You should have a precharge resistor on the solenoid large posts to do this job. Connect the controller with the run toe switch in the run/tow position, weight 30 seconds, and flip the switch on
