Re: 36 volt charger help
You say the wired melt on your new charger, is it the ac or dc melt. Because on the old charger,it's easy to change the dc cord, i've do it. So if your dc cord is in shape on your new charger, i suggest you to take the cord on the newer, and put on the older.. But can you show me a pic of the face of your old plug, because maybe it will fit.... In your cart.

Re: 36 volt charger help
The names may not be exactly correct.
The old charger had the SB 50 type plug and the newer one has radsock type. They are not interchangeable. Change the complete cord as said in previous post. |

Re: 36 volt charger help
Thanks for the reply that me, and I'd.
The cord on both chargers is fine. The problem that I'm running into, Is one plug has black, white and green (all separate) And I'm assuming, hot,neutral,and ground The other plug has black,white. And red. And the red wire is in the same connector as the black wire. I don't know which wires to put in the "newer holder" Black negative? White positive? Red ground? I have no clue...... |

Re: 36 volt charger help
I would change the cord and plug both. Look in the stickies for schematics for the chargers you are working on. If you open the case on both chargers ( UNPLug Charger ) the wiring might be obvious .
Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in. |

Re: 36 volt charger help
Black = -
White = + Red = detects plugged into cart, same as green in other handle. You should be able to convert that cable by cutting off the "SB50" ends and adding #10 ring terminals for 10gauge wire, should be soldered. |
