Default Another Resistor to Controller Cart Conversion

Hi All!

So, I'm finally going to bite the bullet and upgrade the cart to a controller run cart. Before I make any big purchases, I wanted to check with the knowledgable people of BGW so I don't screw anything up.

My cart is a 1990 Western Golf and Country, and it used down here in Pacific beach to haul my college buddies and I around. For those not familiar with the cart, it is internally a Ez-Go Marathon.

- I already have a PB-6 throttle, so controller has to be 0-5k.
- Cart is currently rigged to 48v, and just burned through the supposed "heavy duty" solenoid. I will be needing a new solenoid. Which one is typically recommended around these parts?
- Cables have been upgraded to 4awg.
- The controller that I'm eyeing is a Curtis 1205M-5601 DC Motor Controller - 36/48V 500A. This is the ebay link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Curtis-1205M...item19e1089c93

- Is there anything else that I am overlooking? Is a HD F/R switch really needed?

As a college student already in over his head on this project, I would say I am moderately price sensitive. If there is a cheaper way to do this I am all ears!

Thanks so much in advance!

If you are going with a 500A controller, you'll need a Super-Duty solenoid. (400A continuous/1000A peak)
Scroll to bottom of this page: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Custom_Options.html

With a 500A controller and Super-Duty solenoid, the F/R switch will become the weak link in the series chain, so it ought to be upgraded to something like this: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/F_R_Switch_Upgrades.html
