My RXV with 22 in tires will do 23 MPH (GPS). Realize that the RXV brakes through the motor, if you lower the gears, stock is 16 to 1, I believe you will have braking problems. Brakes will want to lock up and your input pinion and or bearings will fail pretty fast.

yes its in motion. Should have it in about 10 days. Sarge the gears they are putting in at 10 to 5 to 1. my friend (who owns 9 ezgo/club car dealerships) is setting it up and he has one with a speed code and gears and it hit 37. I figured maybe with better cables or controller, the magic 40mph might be possible? Plan to ride on 14 inch rims and tires with a 3 inch lift

Forget rim size. You can run 20" tires on a 14" rim or you can run 33" tires. Rim size is for looks, tire size is ground clearance and/or speed.
