Can you change steering type on a 98 TXT
Hey all, I replaced my whole steering unit not too long ago and it drastically improved my steering. However, I was wondering if there was a way to change it out with a newer style system without too many mods? The cart is FAST and it gets sketchy going downhill at 35!! I know they are small and not intended to go that fast and I usually wont, however it would be nice if the steering were 100% tight. On the flats, it'll run 25-27 mph and even that is a little sloppy. It just feels like it has some play in the wheel.
Thanks |

Re: Can you change steering type on a 98 TXT
With the old steering box mounted to the body the steering column mounts to it. If you loose the steering box for the newer rack and pinion steering you have nothing to mount the steering column to so fabrication will be needed. The old steering box mounts will need cut off to do this so there's no going back.
Have you tired adding wheel spacers? They widen the cart offering better stability. Also a proper alignment will do wonders. |
