Default ezgo 01 14 mph with freedom chip

Hello all. Firstly I want to say what a great site. This site has helped me heaps during this build. A hell of a lot of local knowledge. Anyway I am only getting 14 mph with freedom chip installed. There are no beeps even in reverse. Please help.

Welcome to BGW! There is something wrong if you are only going that fast! What year is the cart? Also, what is the pack voltage when your are only going this fast? When you put it in diag mode, anything? We would all love to see pics of your build!!!!!

Are you sure it is a freedom chip? Check it with the chart attached. You 14 mph indicates you may have any chip other then freedom installed, probably mild hill (yellow).

I guess confirmation of that would be if you have regenerative braking when you let off the go pedal.

I have 2 red chips. Both have same results. I have heard switching from neutral to reverse 5 times should indicate what seeing it is in but no beeps. Reverse beep does not work either. Maybe this could have something to do with it. I did try to read a lot of posts bit found nothing that helped. Not sure of the voltage draw. I don't have the tools for that.

Seen this speed issue before with another member and I believe it was a controller bad.

About the no reverse beeper, someone may have unplugged the reverse beeper located behind the key plate.

I think it was me. I ended up replacing the controller, but still had intermittent problems. Ended up being the reed switch........

Good news. I found a wire off the buzzer reconnected it and now 18 mph. Looks like I need something else so I can get low 20s.
