Default controler/solenoid placement

hi , so I just picked up my new batteries , 8 6 volt , I have removed the controler from stock location so i can fit all batteries under my seat , I am going to mount the controler above motor (plenty of room with lift) but my question is can i remote mount the solenoid away from the controler ? it presently is mounted on the controler , id like to mount it about a foot away , is that ok ? thank you

I'm not one of the "gurus" but there shoudn't be a problem moving the solenoid away from the controller. My concern would be trying to keep the controller dry mounted above the motor.

in the picture you can see i have the solenoid dangling where the controller used to be , I am planning on mounting it to the frame in that spot , tommorow I will fab up a bracket to mount the controller above the motor using the stock cooling fin bracket , this is turning into a bigger project then i wanted this weekend , so much going on , I am just anxious to get it moving again ,lol , just got the sleds out of the garage , tapper rejuvinated and bar stocked

Big project but if you are anything like me you love working on your cart to try and make it better. Good luck with it

No problem remotely mounting various components in the cart. But that stock looking (50-60a) solenoid will soon burn out with 400 amps going thru it ..... get yourself a 200a solenoid.
