Re: 42 volts
You're also going to need to get a new 42 V charger. Go with the DPI 42 V charger that scottieB sells on his website
If you don't have an upgraded controller, you will be one of those as well. |

Re: 42 volts
Be sure to get a 42V charger that has a charge algorithm/profile for US Battery batteries. They require a higher absorption and finish voltage than Trojan batteries. (DPI does has a US Battery setting)
If the controller and the solenoid will work at 42V, it sounds like you are ready to take the leap. |

Re: 42 volts
42V is the stuff, extra speed, extra run time, obvious location for the 7th battery. I love my 42v cart thanks to scotty B.

Western Golf Carts was the pioneer of the 42v Ezgo. Back when they made their first Controller carts. It was a hit with and they later adopted 48v systems. Make sure your control is 48v compatible before you put 42v to it... |

Re: 42 volts
Is 42v a good option for a DCS cart as well as a PDS? I don't want to give up my bag well, and really don't want to move the controller to fit 8 batteries under the seat and if I could get the same speed the JonnieB is seeing I would love the extra range from 7 6v bats

Re: 42 volts
You won't see the same speeds a PDS cart makes on any voltage. The DCS cart makes more torque than a PDS ans more speed than a series cart.
Basically a PDS on 36v goes 24mph without the controller limiting top speed - The same set up in a DCS cart results in 20 mph. Add something like 17.5% (42v) and your top speed on stock tires would be 23.5 with a bout a 50% improvement in torque over the stock control... Recap for DCS cart with pkg 808 and 42v gain 10mph and 50% torque |
