Forever sharp steering wheel
Anyone have any adapter fitting issues ? My adapter doesn't seem to want to fit all the way down on the steering column???

Re: Forever sharp steering wheel
Can you tap it with a hammer? Or, screw the nut down?

I haven't tried to force it down yet? I did have some surface rust on the shaft and I took some sandpaper and smoothed it out. I was just wandering if everyone else fit snug against the shaft???

Re: Forever sharp steering wheel
Don't hammer it on. If you do you may not get it back off again.

Re: Forever sharp steering wheel
Did you take a pick and clean out the spline?is it possible there is supposed to be a dust cover there? You should be able to draw it down just by tightening the nut.... Note: it's a good idea to put some antisieze on the spline so next time you go to take it off it'll be a little easier....

Re: Forever sharp steering wheel
I have a Forever Sharp as well.....all I did when I changed it out, and the stock one was a BIT*H to get off.....it was stock. I squirted some WD40 on the splines and scrubbed them with a small wire brush.....then when I put the new adapter and wheel on, I had no issues. and I have the same adapter that you posted.

Re: Forever sharp steering wheel
just went to the local O'Reily's ...... its actually for a regular car's pedal. but I just drilled a few holes on in and through the pedal on the cart, and put machine screws through it then painted the heads black.

Re: Forever sharp steering wheel
I looked at it again this morning and this seems to be as far down as it will go. It is bottoming out right after the shaft splines.
Any ideas? Can someone take a pic of the steering column adapter area? thanks |
