Solar panel and charge controller for 48v system
I have been looking at various solar panels and charge controllers (on ebay). Looking at the prices of the main components, it seems that a solar charging system could be built for much less than the $1000 to $3000 price tag of an off-the-shelf bolt-on system.
Has anyone attemped to build a solar charging system? Mechanicaly I am sure I could do this...but...I dont know what specs to look for on the panel and controller. A component/parts list and some 'how to' instructions for a 48v cart would be a good start for this project. Any help or links to doing this would be greatly appreciated. |
