Default For the guys with Voltage meters in dash DIGITAL kind

for the guys with digital voltage meters at the key switch and with 36v system, What does your voltage read when driving at full throttle?

Your voltage drop will vary by use and mods but it should never be allowed to drop less then 1.75vpc or 31.5v on a 36v cart.

ok, I understand that. my voltage show says 33.5 to 34.1 when driving down the road, when it was cold is says 32.9. when I park it a few seconds it just back up to 37.8. that's normal right?

That is normal for the voltage to drop under load because you are pulling amps from it. The batteries recover when stopped. I usually wait 15-30 mins to get an accurate reading.

Battery voltage drops when Amps are drawn from the battery. The more Amps drawn, the more it drops.

How far it drops per Amp drawn depends on the AH storage capacity of the battery and in cold weather, the batteries have less storage capacity.

The actual voltage it drops to also is determined by where it starts from, so a partially discharged battery will drop to a lower voltage than a fully charged one when the same number of Amps are drawn.

When doing non-destructive testing, battery manufacturers only take their products down to 1.75VPC under load, so that is a good goal to try to stay above while driving a cart.

The absolute Minimum Under-Load voltage is 1.5VPC. Take them below that and irreversible physical damage can occur. (Active material is actually ripped off the plates)

I have a 500A controller, 1000A peak solenoid, 2Ga cables and an ~11HP motor, so I can take my 245AH 42V battery pack below 1.75VPC during Max effort acceleration for a standstill and on extremely steep hills, but I avoid going below 1.5VPC.

And to repeat, one skinny driver going flat or downhill with a fully charged pack will drop voltage a lot less than four heavy passengers with a 36 pack going uphill on a discharged pack.

not skinny 190, full charge 38.4 hit the throttle dropped to 36.2 and started coming back up to 37.4. could only run about 100 yards on a smooth surface
temp was in the 70s after sitting for awhile it was flashing between 38.1 an 38.2

was golf carts designed to carry 4 heavy passengers ?
who is dumb enough to run a cart up hill on a discharged pack ?
yes i'm skinny, illness will do that to you
no one wants to ride with me so i can't get better "real life" readings for ya
my area IS flat & paved ... nearest "hill" is 12 miles away
so i gave my voltmeter readings as they are for me as a referance not as a guide
