Default 2002 800E workhorse, ideas for mas power?

Hello everyone,

I wanted to say thanks for all the help I've been getting from this forum. It helped me get an old 87 resistor 3 wheeled cart going again. It also gave me the bug to acquire the workhorse pictured. Thanks again for everyones help. Look forward to learning a whole lot more.

Anyway, I bought a 2002 EZ GO 800E workhorse. Everything seems fine, batteries and cables new in 07, all connections to motor fine. I am posting to confirm that this is a non dcs model. From what I've gathered from the stickies, my model is a non dcs vehicle. First, I wanted to confirm that, and second, I wanted to see what "mods" are available from the guys here, as well as the sponsors. Does variable speed chips work on these style models? Also, does 4 AWG cables versus 6 AWG cables prove a difference in performance?

Thanks again for all the help, both past and present.

Ah, patience grasshopper...........

I searched DCS via forums, answered whether chips would work. Old post shows it will not. Answering my own questions through searches has lead to couple more. Since I have a DCS, where would I locate the tow/run switch, assuming I have one. It should be ON the controller box, is that correct? I cannot seem to locate said switch, but maybe its a fleet. I'll let the experts let me know. Thanks

Looks like you have a standard series type controller cart. (fleet) Those are the most abundant as far as mods go....controllers, motors....all kinds of stuff.

But for the cheapy quick mods, no "speed chips" for the fleet cars. Am I safe to assume that. I guess the 4 AWG cables are the only cheap electrical upgrade.

No speed plugs for fleet cars. Yes, 4 gage cables are probly the cheapest.

Cheapest speed mod would probably be, have motor redone by EMP. You can keep your original controller. Also taller tires will give you 1-3 mph increase.

For those guys out that have already got work done by EMP, whats the turnaround time?
