Batteries put in bacwards
Ok I am idiotic.
Bought new set of Trojan 105, and I installed them backwards, yes backwards. After viewing posts here put back correct way. The charger works and lights work but nothing else does. How much is this mistake going to cost? What did I fry. This is a 2001 TXT.pds 36volt. Thank you |

Re: Batteries put in bacwards
Welcome to BGW!!!! Hopefully you had a fuse. They are only $20 at an auto supply store. Bring in your old one.

Re: Batteries put in bacwards
Batts are probably fine. Controller may be toast. Check microswitch at pedal (get wire diagram and find plug to make checking easier). Check diode at solenoid (if present), its probably blown, killing microswitch with it. You hooked main negative to battery +, and main positive to battery -, and turned it on? This could be a costly mistake.

Re: Batteries put in bacwards
Maybe you got luck and only took out the Reed switch or the Run/Tow switch. Those are the only two with direct battery connections.(Hopefully it was in Tow while disconnecting/reconnecting the batteries, else the controller is likely gone)
Starting point would be to chack for B+ (Battery Pack voltage) on J1 Pins 4 & 5. Pin-5 is hot all the time and Pin-4 is hot whenever charger is not plugged into cart. If both are present, it is a good time to consider upgrading to an Alltrax DCX400 or larger controller. At 36V, your cart with do about 24 MPH on stock height tires. |

Re: Batteries put in bacwards
What fuse, as far as i know, the txt control circuit has no fuse. The glass fuses on the drivers side inner fender are for 12 accessories only.

Re: Batteries put in bacwards
The HT leads fuse. It goes in the HT leads circuit.
