Aftermarket EZGO Shock Absorbers
Do any of the major shock makers (monroe, gabriel, etc.) have listings for golf carts? Thanks All.

Re: Aftermarket EZGO Shock Absorbers
No, but you can take a GC shock to an auto parts store and they can measure and cross reference it to an automotive part number.

Re: Aftermarket EZGO Shock Absorbers
Car shocks do not handle the same as golf cart shocks. Something about a slight weight difference they are valved for. Would you use golf cart shocks on your car? Probably not.
IMO buy golf cart shocks for your golf cart and car shocks for your car. |

Re: Aftermarket EZGO Shock Absorbers
Sportcoupe is right. The valves on the car shocks is designed to dampen the bumps and bounces for a vehicle weighing 2 to 3 times that of a cart. The resulting ride could be very rough as the plunger fails to move much, if any, distance. Since most carts are set up with leaf springs, the reduction in travel would probably feel more like no suspension at all.

Re: Aftermarket EZGO Shock Absorbers
Chloe your comment sounds plausible. For those that have installed the Napa shocks or others from automotive suppliers how have they performed? I've seen more than a couple posts in past few months by people who installed auto parts store versions so what is some feedback?

Re: Aftermarket EZGO Shock Absorbers
I am not trying to put car shocks on my golf cart. What I am trying to say is...EZGO does not manufacture their own shocks...but some shock manufacturer does. Once you know who, the cross referencing begins to hopefully cross reference to a higher quality shock. I wouldn't put gc shocks on my car...I get that. I would take a SEARS p.o.s. shock and cross reference it to a KONI to get a BETTER quality shock. That's what I am looking to do.

Re: Aftermarket EZGO Shock Absorbers
With 8 pounds psI in the tires and my napa shocks ride smooth. On the field they flex like they should.
They there to dampen and take the bou nce out of the springs. Its not stiff at all. No body roll either. For me the price is right and I had them in my hands the next day. No waiting... |
