Default Pds steep hill mode

I've read tons of posts about the freedom and all terrain modes, and just found out about steep hill mode. I have a lift and 23" tires on mine. I'm not all concerned with top speed, and I have clipped the middle jumper to put it in the same mode as the yellow chip(mild hill?). I need more torque for climbing hills without putting it in a bind when I have it loaded down. I'm upgrading to 2awg wiring this weekend, and a higher amperage solenoid. I know a controller and motor, but I rarely have trouble with this one, but it has went into limp mode a few times if you go slow with it.

If it has went in to limp mode a few times, the controller is going to die soon, A PDS cart with a stock controller is NOT made to run tires bigger than stock, the 23" tires are killing the stock controller, the only fix is a 400 or 500 amp controller, the 2ga cables is not going to fix your problem, and you should NOT stall the motor in your cart or your going to burn it up.

The "chips" or more correctly called personality modules, will not increase torque at all. They either adjust regen braking or change rpm speed limit or both. None give more "power".

Ok so what is the difference between mild hill and steep hill. Has anyone figured out the best configuration for the large tires? I understand that I would benefit from a controller/ motor upgrade, but I don't see why I would take one out because it will smoke one day. I'm going to let'er eat until it lets the factory smoke out then put a 4-500 amp bad boy on there. heck I might even add a flux capacitor or two!

Roughly 1 MPH and the intensity of the regen baking. (See attached.)

Yes, numerous forum members have figured out the best configuration for their carts. Some through the knowledge acquired on this forum, others through the expensive process of trial and error.

If you are determined to run the stock motor and controller with 23" tires, be sure to carry a cell phone and tow rope with you, odds are that they won't fail when you are close to home.

SO just pull the jumper off and go with it - good luck.

That is what I was looking for. So no plug is all terrain? I really hate when you let off the gas and it throws you through the windshield. So far this controller has lasted this way for over two years. Maybe I just got a good one. I got my 2awg wiring made and put on yesterday, going to try it out today.

Yes, no plug is all terrain. Here are pictures of the plugs.

I didn't notice much difference except I can feel it trying to limit the speed, but it is still going about its normal max speed anyway. So in theory the controller is trying to reach a certain current output in relation to speed. So with the larger tires when it thinks I'm at 13 mph I'm really at about 17. I imagine it is using the same principal as the vfd drives I'm used to at work.
