Default Radios on Reducers

I tried my radio on on a relay and found it wold work with the memory wire unplugged for two seconds, That means, I can power the memory wire from my pack until I turn on my reducer, which can activate a relay moving the memory wire from the pack to the reducer. Not sure if if will work with all radios, but works with my JVC. The only other option is to power circuit with a small battery pack, suck as a CR-25 (or whatever) to keep the stations.

I tied the memory wire into the 12v fuse block from the converter and the power lead to a toggle switch to the fuse panel

That would mean your converter is always powered up?

Aux battery is the easiest for a radio memory wire. Unfortunately, I crammed eight T=105s under my seat and have little room available. I also use a toggle next to my radio. My JVC has to have the volume knob pressed for two seconds to turn off. I have a pet peeve about things turning off when I have to wait.

I had a ceiling fan/light in my bedroom that I had to boot up before cycling from bright, to dim, to low, then off, and high, medium, low, then off for the fan. I replaced the computer with a simple dimmer for the light and a toggle for the fan. I don't mind pulling the fan chain to change speeds.

I was trying to offer an option for folks who use reducers but have trouble with the memory circuit. Aux battery folks don't have that problem.
