36v TXT voltage reducer wiring help
I have searcehed some of the previous threads but have not found what I am looking for. I am attempting to install a Madjax brand 36v - 12v 30amp voltage reducer (link).
Here is my problem, where do I get the switched 36v + power from? I checked the key switch and I does not show 36v. It is the standard 2 position on-off switch with two poles on the back, one yellow wire and one white wire. everything on the cart works as it should. Other cart Info: 2007 TXT 36v dash mount F-N-R switch no factory lights key switch is simple On-Off thanks Jay |

Re: 36v TXT voltage reducer wiring help
I've done it but can't remember right now where I got the switched power from. I'll look when I get home a respond if you haven't gotten an answer for someone else.

Re: 36v TXT voltage reducer wiring help
The challenge is that the cart is off each time it goes into neutral. Did you test the key with the F&R in gear?

Re: 36v TXT voltage reducer wiring help
I replaced my two position key switch with a three position key switch. Off, on, on with accessories. Since I was buying a new switch anyway, I opted for a uniquely keyed switch. Note, my reducer has a remote on, which is low amperage. If your reducer doesn't have that feature, you may have to use a relay, to keep from exceeding the key switch's rating.

Re: 36v TXT voltage reducer wiring help
It has a remote on or as they call it + input from key switch.

Re: 36v TXT voltage reducer wiring help
Why not buy a three position key switch, or simply add a toggle switch? I ran a dedicated 48v to mine.

In a series cart and in a DCS cart, voltage is lost to the keyswitch when the F/R switch is in Neutral, but I'm not sure if it does in a PDS. I believe all that is need to get voltage to the keyswitch from the PDS controller, is Battery voltage on J1 Pins 4 & 5 and the Run/Tow switch in the Run position. The voltage from the controller to the keyswitch should be on the White wire and the switched voltage would be on the White/Yellow wire. |
