Default Series cart occasionally stops.

I have a friend that has a 2003 series EZGO that will stop on occasions and will not move. Let it sit a few minutes and then it may go fine and not have any trouble for weeks. I changed the solenoid thinking it could be some worn contacts, but that wasn't it. Also the motor, or rear end, has a little rattle (chatter) when you let off the gas. Wondering if that could be related. Also the solenoid does click when it doesn't move. Any input would be appreciated.

I would remove/clean/inspect the forward/reverse assembly. Also, and maybe first thing, give every large cable a good tug and twist and see if there is one about to fail. Go all the way to the motor.

Thanks, I will check them. I was wondering if it was going in thermal shutdown, but may go weeks with no problems.

To check if it is thermal shut down drive it slow with max load or on long hills. If it goes into it's stopped for awhile routine then it's thermal shutdown for sure.

We have loaded it to max and drove it, but I didn't think about driving it slow. I assume the thermal shut down is in the controller?
