Default 600 amp controller/torque motor let down

Just installed a 600 amp alltrax controller and pds high torque motor(nivel part number 3268 )on my 2010 PDS and was extremely let down. 4 gauge wires, high amp solenoid the whole nine yards. I do have a jake's long travel lift and 23" tires so I understand that I will lose torque there but the money I have in the controller/motor/solenoid I thought the performance would be much better. Barely better than some freedom RXV's that I have driven. Is it possible that the controller isn't programmed to 600 amps? Or did I just expect too much (burnouts, wheelies, something cool...)

Programming can make a 600A controller act like a 300A. With 600 amps and a high torque motor you have the ability for wheelies if programmed so.

Yes throttle curves and ramp rates could make it quite the excitable ride...

scottyb / sportcoupe. It must be programmed wrong. Can I program it? or do i need to send it back? already have a pile of money in the cart so I don't want to send it to get programmed and have an arm and a leg in it. Any suggestions?

While it is true that the 23" tires will cost you about 25% of the torque available to stock height tires where the rubber meets the road, all the available torque does exist where the axles turn the wheels, so the cart ought to lift the front tires, especially with a high torque motor.
(Taller tires tend to do wheelies, shorter tires tend to do burnouts)

I suspect your controller is de-tuned.

You have a DCX rather than an AXE shown in the video, so the bench setup is different, however your controller is already installed and it can be programmed while it is in the cart.

You need a laptop, a USB to Serial adapter and the Controller-Pro program.

You can set it up to take off like a dragster or like a luxury sedan.

I think you are just expecting too much.

And whoever suggested 4g wires for a high torque motor doesn't know much.

You said " Barely better than some freedom RXV's that I have driven."
Personally I think if the DC cart exceeds the AC RXV you are doing okay.

You seem to be comparing speed with a torque motor, or I could be reading your complaint wrong?

Factory default settings are 100% amperage output and 100% ground speed.

True story here! A rxv is one bad arse stock cart. My inlaws goes 24-25! So my cart going 23 and tons of torque compared to the rxv I'm happy with it. Hard to compare a rxv and dc motored cart. Apples and oranges

You have replaced a lot on your cart but it's only as string as it's weakest link. Do still have a stock fnr? If so I'm wondering if it's slowing your flow of amps to the motor. I just replaced my cables from a mix of 4 and 6 gauge to 2 awg welding cables (from Scottyb) and my torque increased a ton by taking out my weaklink which were the canles
