Yes your batteries need to be charged. The reason it runs ok at first is because batteries "bounce back" after they have rested for a short period. I have a 1992 EZGO and got a hold of a replacement charger and it works fine. EZGO Textron Industrial Battery Charger Model # 26984 called the total charge III. output= 36v 21 amp DC for lead acid , deep cycle, 18 cell
amphours=240

If it's a 92 cart your batteries should look like this. You could do them 1 at a time if the charger has a 6 volt setting as well.

Andy4639-Thanks for your help.

I've been watching 36 volt GC chargers go for 100 to 150 bucks on Ebay. Craigslist Houston also had a totalcharge for 150 bucks. Look in CL in your area. With patience you may get lucky....

TexasWorkhorse: Thanks. I've been cautined about buying a used charger on-line. My be worn out and no way to know. Have you (or anyone else) had experience with on-line purchases? LVS Sales seems to have real good prices for new chargers, in the range of the used. Anyone had experience with them. For about same $, I'd prefer new with warranty.

Caution about buying cheap chargers! Look at the amperage output. Also, who ever said used chargers may be worn out is completely unknowledgable or trying to sell you sopmething new...Used chargers are rarely problematic. Did you buy a new cart?
Just my 2 cents........

I have bought several chargers off the net from E-bay and from induvisuals both. Haven't gotten one yet that I couldn't use. I have a power wiser and a older timer Ezgo charger for sale.
Power Wise $200.00 + shipping
Older Ezgo $150.00 + shipping
