Default What is this noise?

Hello all, new member here. What a wealth of information here. I have 08 ezgo and it has a "clicking" noise coming from the passenger rear wheel. It it not all the time. It sounds like it is behind the center cap. If your giving it gas it stops until you let off. If you start braking the noise stops sometimes. I just got it back from the shop and they put new leaf spring bushings in and it is quieter but this dag gone noise is still there. Any suggestions from the experts? Oh and if you speed up the "clicking" speeds up

Was the noise there before? I would check lug nuts , and the axle shaft retaining nut first. That axle nut should be like 90/140 lbs I think.

Yes noise was there before. The shop said they took the rear hubs off and inspected but saw nothing out of the ordinary. I told them I thought is was a wheel bearing they said it was the leaf spring bushings. Got cart back Friday drove it yesterday the noise came back. It is not as loud as it was but still there driving me nuts! Is it a hard job to replace wheel bearing?

No not really. Pull the brakes, the axle nut and there is a snap ring at the outer end of axle that needs to be removed. I drop the diff pan also but not sure if you really need to. And then use a slide hammer or something to pull axle out. they can be a little hard to pull out by hand. here is a picture of one I'm replacing right know. Oh and by the way I had some clicking going on also. But I am in the process of doing a limited slip or I probably would have never seen it.

I used the brake drum to pull the axle. everything else I used the Service manual. I replaced all bearings and seals, and it quieted it up quite a bit, though as a '98, it was still noisy.
