Buying new batteries, Worth the extra $100 for higher AH?
So I found a EZGO dealer here that is selling new US Battery US-1800 208AH for $500 OTD. OR US-2200 232AH for $600 OTD. Can someone give me a legitimate reason to spend the extra 100? Like what kind of extra run time to expect?
Current batteries are Powerfast GC2. I think they are 208AH as well. Thank you. |

That would depend on if you were satisfied with the 208 AH you are replacing, if you can afford the higher amperage and how well you plan to maintain them and if you plan on keeping the 23 year old cart. Personally I would choose the less expensive set for a cart that old.

Radio's right, it's according how long your going to keep the cart. But if your like me(keep'er till da wheels fall off and den stick'em back on) if you could use some more run time get the 2200's. I've got the 1800's but the way we drive I'd rather have the 2200's. But I don't have any quarrel with the 1800's, mine has done me well. As far as how much further you can travel going to the 2200's, JohnnieB would definitely be the one to cipher' that one out. He's the man when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Higher AH batteries should last longer since you won't discharge them as far % wise between charges. You are talking roughly a 10% difference in capacity.

Re: Buying new batteries, Worth the extra $100 for higher AH?
Thanks alot guys. I confirmed I have 208ah batts right now. Honestly no I'm not happy with the range I currently have. I'm thinking I will go for the 232ah batteries. As for the age, it doesn't bother me. It's in pretty good shape for its age. Hell our ski boat is a 86 and it has to float lol. I'm sure we will keep it for years to come. I really want to go for 48v but just don't have the money to do so.

Well why did you ask our opinion? Seems your mind was already made up.

Well if it's like 10 mins of extra run time then it's not worth it... Still not made up. Currently searching for used 48v parts. If I can find something that I can make work then I will be swapping.
