42v for sepex and 48v for series - you won't regret it

YEP.....since you will be starting from scratch.....don't even hesitate, do your homework, and up the voltage and never look back!

Re: 36 volt versus 42 volt set up?
Find out if its a series, DCS or PDS 3915-guide-tell-if-ezgo-series-sepex-regen-system.html to tell.
Like Scottyb said if its series you will want 48v and if its a DCS cart you probably want 48v as well, but a PDS cart will do really well on 42v with extended range and speed. |

Re: 36 volt versus 42 volt set up?
Remember to plan ahead. Basically, figure out what you want the cart to do before you start building it and then build with that goal in mind.
IE: If you aren't sure if you will be running at 36V, 42V or 48V, buy stuff that will work with all three. With my drive system, I can go up to 48V or down to 36V without any changes except battery pack and charger. |

Re: 36 volt versus 42 volt set up?
Johnnie could probably expound on this but the Sepex motor is more efficient and actually requires less voltage/amperage than a series motor for a given task. My 42v PDS out performs my 48v series Ezgo.

Re: 36 volt versus 42 volt set up?
But that is for a PDS correct? If it is DCS a 42v conversion won't be as impressive as it would be on a PDS cart from what I've seen on this forum.
