Default Dpi charger problem

36v charger hums when plugged in to the wall but the power light is not lighting up on the charger and it does not kick into charge mode when plugged in. One year old t125's that have been charged since day one with this charger and rest at 38.2+ after 24 hrs. Not sure where to start looking.

I have a 48 volt DPI charger it always comes whether or not it's plugged into the batteries. the transformer is always on I took it apart to check it out. it does have two diodes and a capacitor is that could be bad. there's probably somebody on this site that knows more about it than I do

Transformer hums but that is all. It has been acting up a little lately, sometimes I'd have to plug the charger plug into the cart a couple times to get it to recognize the cart and start the cycle.

Sounds like you may have dirty/corroded connections in the charging receptacle on the cart and/or DC plug on the charger.

Sounds like it may be worn rad-soks in the charger receptacle... try plugging it in normally and then lift and hold the cord end plug up for awhile and see if that improves the connection and the charger comes on after a bit.

I left the "worn" out of my "corroded/dirty" comment! Almost went back & edited it, but was too lazy!

I'll check that. But isn't there a power light on the bottom front panel of the dpi charger that illuminates when plugged in?

If your lights aren't coming on, you may have a problem with the little PC board in the charger. You should have (some) lights anytime the charger is connected to AC power......

That's what I was thinking.

Yes.
The normal start up process when DPI Accusense charger is plugged into AC power (with or without being plugged into cart) is for all five LEDs to flash a number of times and then bottom LED stays on. (Other LEDs may also be on.)

The number of times the five LEDs flash equals the charge mode selected.

If the transformer hums when you plug it into AC power, but the LED doesn't light up, the problem is most likely the PCB Assembly.
Transformer and PCB assembly and ammeter are all there is in the box - so it really isn't very hard to troubleshoot.

Check the fuses on the PCB assembly!!!!!!!
