Default 2008 EZ Go

Hi folks..been awhile since I have posted; my cart has been doing great. It is an EZ Go, 2008 with 5 Trojan battiers and one Interstate brand golf cart battery.

I have a digital voltage readout which usually stays aroud 36.0v. The cart has been doing great..the other day 4 of us took a ride and after only a short while, it seemed to be dying. Got it home, checked batteries..all full and put on overnight charge. Next day, same thing with only two people.

Noticed my charger will give me two short red flashes and I think one red flash...so I dont think the cart is charging...what should I check?

36.0 volts is dead. Either your charger isn't fully charging them, or it's time for new batteries. It could be a single bad battery.

I got home and checked each individual battery....all the Trojans have 6.5 or 6.7v....the Interstate brand had only 5.7...I have a charger on it and will let it charge for a few hours and then see how it goes.

Voltages should be checked 12 hours after charging completes. You may be able to buy a used battery that's the same age as your Trojans to replace the Interstate.

You may have a charger problem, especially if you have one of these:

You need to try another charger and prove yours is bad. If it is (and maybe is it isn't bad), I'd call ScottyB and get a DPI charger. It is a WAY better charger then the Powerwise QE I posted a picture of.

The top one is mine...my batteries are 2011 Trojans with the exception of one...im going to scount around and borrow another charger and see if that works.

my pack is at 37.1 now...what does it need to be at for the charger to kick on?

That batt with 5.7 is trash. A better charger will be a great investment, but that bad battery will still be junk.

37.1v is MORE then enough for a charger to turn on. Is there no way you can test the charger on another cart or borrow a charger to test on your cart?

As for the low battery. It is sick for sure and MAY respond to repetitive charging, but it is a US battery and the rest are Trojan. I would never mix these two as US Batteries have different charge requirements then most all other golf cart batteries.
