RXV voltage converter switch
I have a 2013 RXV with factory-installed 12 volt converter. This unit is switched via the key; if it's in anything but "Off", the converter is operating. I'd really like to have the converter NOT running unless I want it on, so would like to install a switch.
The converter has 5 wires going to the connector: White, Red/white tracer, Bk/white tracer, Green, and Brown/white tracer. Can anyone tell me which is which, or better yet, is there a complete schematic available someplace? I don't see the shop manual for the RXV listed on the Shop EZ-Go site, but maybe they have it? TIA: Jim |

Re: RXV voltage converter switch
There should be a small wire on the "solenoid output switched wire, solenoid -> controller +". If you look at the opposite end of the black dc/dc convertor, it has a pinout schematic, and the plug does have numbers to match (pins 1-6).

Re: RXV voltage converter switch
Just curious why you want to disconnect it. I also have 13' rxv.

Re: RXV voltage converter switch
Goat,
I want to disconnect it because it draws about 400 Ma, even with no load on the output. If the cart happens to be parked but the switch left in any "On" position, it's running the battery down. I installed a converter on my old CC and had a push-pull switch on the dash, along with a pilot light to remind me that the converter was "live". A 12VDC receptacle was mounted adjacent to the switch & light. It worked well, and I'd like to have the same setup on the EZ-Go. CGTech, I'll check out your hints, thanks!! Jim |
