Not that it relates perfectly, but in the lifted jeep world stabilizers are frequently used for sloppy steering. Think of it as a bandaid on a gunshot wound. If the steering is that bad, something is probably wrong.

My steering box is, new tie rod ends and toe-in is set, but at 35+ MPH, it gets squirrely with rear passengers. It's on my to-do list to try one.

LOL. Well, in that case it's worth a try. However, having an old TXT series cart I can get it rolling like bolt of lightning down a nice long hill, far faster than it was ever intended to go and just turning the wheel a smidge gives it a rolling sway that will get your attention. I'd imagine a stabilizer would aid in easing that up a bit.

Concur.
I was merely pointing out that needing a stabilizer doesn't necessarily mean something's wrong. We often push our buggies WAY beyond what they were intended for. Wider and longer wheel base would probably help, but if it were possible to change the gears in the rack and pinion box to require more turns of the steering wheel to go from lock to lock, that would be best. It's not a problem with just one passenger, but seems to get really bad with four, so something else is going on. I had one person drive mine with four passengers, and it started oscillating back and forth, taking up both lanes. I had to hit the brake for him, to avoid a head-on. |

Re: ezgo steering stabilizer kit 29490. any luck
I figured it was the added weight causing the suspension to flex more, which causes the driver to lean more, thus moving the steering wheel more. The obvious response to zinging from one lane to the other is to overcompensate, which repeats the process. I've learned to deal with it, but refuse to let others to drive with more than two passengers.
I'm hoping a stabilizer would dampen that a bit. |

Do you have slop in your steering? I had a lot of slop and had to replace a number of parts to tighten it up. 20 may be where mine used to get squirrelly before tightening the steering up and going to HD springs.
