RXV F/R Question
I'm new to EZ-GO and the RXV system so looking for some help/information. The problem began with a balky reverse buzzer which was replaced but seems that isn't the problem. I now suspect either a lose connection or a faulty key switch -- possibly both. What I don't know with this model is whether there is a separate R/F switch or contactor assembly elsewhere in the cart or the whether the key switch handles that function. After some run time the new reverse buzzer quit or became barely audible and the key switch feels a little sloppy as it is cycled through the various positions. This is a '13 cart which had one year of use in a golf course fleet so the key switch probably got a lot of use. What is the F/R arrangement in an RXV? Does the reverse buzzer connect to the key switch or at some other location and where should I be looking to troubleshoot?

Re: RXV F/R Question
FnR switching is done in the controller. The switch just sends power to the correct wire to tell the controller what to do. What other symptoms do you have ?

Re: RXV F/R Question
I assume that means the buzzer is powered by the controller, and he shouldn't worry about the key switch or FNR switch?

Re: RXV F/R Question
After sitting over night the reverse buzzer worked fine this morning until after the cart was run for a period of time. Then, only a brief, low volume buzz as the switch was cycled from off to reverse. The battery charge low level light lights briefly as well when the key switch is cycled from off to reverse. No other performance issues are noted. Cart runs fine in both forward and reverse.

Re: RXV F/R Question
Well I was trying to find my RXV wiring diagram but of course can't right now... I am not sure if the buzzer is fed from the controller or the switch. I will look for it when I get home..

Re: RXV F/R Question
I still think it's worth reading the voltage at the buzzer when it's acting normally and again when it's quiet. Just toss a DMM in the glove box.

Re: RXV F/R Question
OK, just found one or close enough. The + side comes from a + wire from the system, the - comes from the controller

Re: RXV F/R Question
Thank you. Can you tell if the + wire come off the key switch or just some hot off the battery pack?
