Post 2000 EZGO TXT PDS beeps in FWD

I inadvertently arced between B+ and B- at the charger port with a lapse in sanity. Now with key on and FNR switch in FWD, the reverse buzzer is buzzing and pressing the pedal gets no click from solenoid. With FNR switch in reverse, buzzer is off, solenoid switches and cart will start to move backwards. I am not sure of the impact of the FNR switch on the solenoid. If I swap the wires on the switch the fault follows. Not sure where to look next. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Were you in run or tow when this "lapse in sanity" occurred?

Also, I had the 10 wire connector disconnected from the controller.

Someone with PDS experience will help you. I have a series, and with a series, the high amperage cables are effectively disconnected if the solenoid isn't energized. If a PDS solenoid is wired differently, you may have exposed the controller to transients on the high amperage cables.

I found a PDS wiring diagram, and it looks to me like with the 10 conductor plug disconnected and the solenoid open, there's a chance you could have introduced pack + into the controller B- connection, BUT, since that's normally pack -, you would think all that would happen is it would go from pack - to 0. Every other connection seems to be disconnected with the 10 connector unplugged.

That is what I was thinking. The buzzer working in the wrong mode concerns me that I may have induced a ground issue inside the controller. Thanks for your help.

Is the FnR switch on the dash or beside your leg ? If beside your leg may have fried one of the microswitches on the shifter. Check their operation and continuity to see if one or both failed.

B+ is connected to the controller via the precharge resistor when the solenoid contacts are open, so the controller did get "Spiked".

Sounds like a good time to up grade to an Alltrax DCX400 (or larger) controller.

That will up your top speed to about 24 MPH with stock height tires.

He said he swapped the wires on the switch and the problem followed the wires, so can we may rule out the switch, regardless of which type it is?
