Default early 80's ezgo motor

Hi Guys,
My buddy has an ezgo marathon early 80's resistor cart. It needs batteries among other things, but the A2 terminal stud on the motor is loose you can move it with your fingers. Can the stud be tightened or replaced or does he need to look for a new electric motor?

thanks,

If the motor still works, you can carefully tighten the nut. Make sure the stud doesn't spin. One way to do that is to thread two nuts on the stud and tighten them against each other. Hold back on that, while using a wrench to tighten the bottom nut.

If you've never done this before, you will hold the middle nut while tightening the bottom one. While you tighten the bottom nut, any movement of the stud will tend to drive the middle nut into the top one, preventing it from spinning.
