fuse
I blew a fuse that goes between the negative battery wire and the controller it ia marked ann 250 does anyone know where I can get one and can it be replaced with a breaker? What could cause it to blow? I checked all battery wires, controller etc. all are clean and tight . The cart runs fine without it. Thanks Bob

Re: fuse
If it were me I wouldn't run my cart until I found out what caused the fuse to blow. An ann250 is 22 bucks here but a new controller is quite a bit more. Hopefully one of the experts on her will chime in to what might have blown the fuse. Have you upgraded the carts controller without upgrading the F&R switch?

Re: fuse
Dealer cost on gold plated ANL's up to 250amp is about $1.99 each, so $3.99 is a $2.00 profit, minus mailing... Easy profit. Not sure WHY he is selling them for only $3.99 though, most shops charge a minimum of $6.00 each, some as much as $15.00 each.
You COULD use a circuit breaker, if you can find one rated for 250amps (and at the voltage needed), but that might be harder to come by, and will cost a lot more than the fuse will. A 200amp manual reset breaker for the 12v automotive world is anywhere from $12-80, 250's are pretty hard to find. |

Re: fuse
Yeah, it seems all Alltrax controllers come with a new fuse.
As far as his price INCLUDING shipping, and losing money, WRONG. If he ships using regular mail, it will only cost him between $0.53 and $1.00 max to ship. So even at $1.00 shipping he's making $1.01. It's not worth it in my opinion, but it IS a profit. If he buys huge quantities he can actually get the price down under $1.99 each as well. I have actually ordered them for as little as $1.20 each in LARGE quantities (250-500 pieces). He could also have found some that "fell off a truck" or something... lol Maybe he's a big dealer that purchases truckloads or cargo containers full of merchandise from china, so he gets the stuff for pennies on the dollar. I have been known to buy multiple pallets (nearly a full semi trailer load) of merchandise for $200-800 and turn a profit of 10 times the amount. The first time I did it, I only bought 2 1/2 pallets, and made full return within 1 hour at a swap meet, and by the time I decided to go home I had tripled my money, and still had more than 90% of my stuff left. It's all in how you purchase and how you move the stuff. With those small ticket items you just have to sell big #'s fast to really make it worthwhile. |
