Default Led driving lights need help

Ok so need some wiring help....I have a 91 marathon, decided that I would make my own light kit of the stuff I wanted and needed. So I have a set for 4in cube led fog lights for my driving lights and some led tail lights and also running some led strips for underneath the cart. Now I ran all the wires and also made sure to use a fuse. Now when the cart isn't moving or not accelerating they are nice and bright, as soon as you push down on the gas they dim considerably. I'm guessing maybe I need something like a relay? Any ideas or suggestions of what I need?

Thanks Bryan

You are seeing voltage drop across the pack. You can measure this yourself with a multimeter and some alligator clips. Are you using a 36-12v convertor or have you tapped the pack across two batteries for 12v?

I'm running the positive to the main battery, or the same battery that the solenoid connects too if that describes it better and then it is being grounded on the battery to the left of it

So, yes, you are tapping 12v from the pack. That will "show" more voltage drop than if you used a proper convertor and drew across the whole pack. Also, those two batteries may become unbalanced in relation to the others depending on how much your 12v circuit is used. They wont last as long as the others.

Buy a reducer. You'll need to add up the amperage of all accessories, now and future, such as a stereo. Buy a reducer large enough to handle those loads.

For instance, I used to have two 55 watt halogen headlights. That's nearly 10 amps.

Another option is to add a 12 volt deep cycle battery to power all of your accessories. Both solutions have merits and demerits, and you'll get differing opinions as to which is best. It really comes down to what works best for your application. An aux battery will require a separate charger, but one positive is it doesn't drain your main pack, and if you have a radio, the memory wire is easy to address. A reducer doesn't require a separate battery charger, and works just fine with the exception of a radio memory wire, which involves some creativity to keep alive.

I'm not familiar with Marathons, but a TXT has a spot under the driver's side that's perfect for a battery. You can use hold downs like this. I later added some angle to all four sides on the bottom to keep it from sliding around.
