Default Am I going to be able to find parts for my 1975 EZ-GO electric?

I just found out tonight that the cart I bought is a 1975. My plan all along has been to put a lift, tires and wheels, custom paint, and some type of performance motor in it. I have been searching all over the internet all night and am starting to figure out that I should have bought a newer model!! Am I going to have to basically just use the shell and frame from this cart and retro-fit new suspension and drive train into it? I would like to look at making it a 4X4 with 1 or 2 electric motors, but I have a feeling that is going to be a little tough to pull off. Any suggestions from you more experienced guys out there?

Yep, parts are a lot harder to find for those....I think there is only a handful of lifts and those may need modifications to work right. The motor you will have to have re-worked...you might be able to find a newer rear end and that will open up more options. You can convert to an electronic controller.....but in the end you still have a 1975 model cart not worth what you put into it. Just my 0.02.

Thanks! Based on the pretty simple design of the frame and suspension I think I will be able to fab up a lift kit myself. My main concern is converting to a controller and fitting up a newer rear-end assembly. I would like to have a little newer drive train then what is in it now. I plan on fabricating a new nose piece since the one on the 75 is pretty cheap looking. Any idea what controller I would need to use with the current stock 36V motor? I think it's a GE motor. The tag under the seat has "5GE" in the model number.

Most any series style controller will work fine.
