Default 2008 rxv wiring to State of Charge Meter

I bought a EZGO Factory State of Charge Meter for my 2008 exgo RXV cart. I also bought the adapter harness to go with this. Unfortunately my factory harness on the cart does not have a place for me to plug this into. I have 3 free wires present in the vicinity. 1red, 1 black and 1 gray. I suppose that these could be the correct three wires and i will need to fix the connection but was hoping to verify prior to trying that. the new adapter harness requires 3 wires but 1 red, 1 black and 1 blue.

If anyone knows if this is the correct three wires please let me know.

Thanks

Dennis

from my '08 rxv
- you will find this connector behind the "dash" - right beside the key switch
- it has 3 wires... as remember when i tested it:

+ 48volt - red
+ some voltage - grey
- ground - black

use for SOC oem meter

I did buy the OEM SOC Meter and Adapter but the plug was not present on my carts harness. I see the red, black and grey wire and they are cinch tied together but no female connecter as you show.

I can put my own female and male ends on them but since the harness adapter had a black, red and blue wire and the cart had black, red and grey wires I did not want to jump to conclusions and put the blue wire of the new harness adapter with the grey wire of the cart until I could verify they belonged together.

THANKS for your help

Did you buy the RXV used? Original owner may have cut them. I'd check the wires with a DMM before hooking it up, but at least the colors match. Based on the post above, I would guess the positive and negative are from the pack. The grey wire may be 0 - 5 volts (or something like that) from the controller to indicate 0 - 100%, referenced to negative.

I bought the cart used last year. It had a Non-OEM SOC meter on it that never worked right. It would always reset every time it was turned on. I had read many threads on this forum and understood why that was happening so I decided to change over to an OEM SOC meter. When I was installing though I realized the Adapter was not present. I am sure the previous owner cut of the adapter on the harness. He was not using the grey wire on the non OEM SOC meter though, so I got a little nervous if it was one of the three that belonged.

The red and/or grey may require the key switch be turned on to test them. Just to be safe, I'd place the run/tow in tow when working on it.

I'm not an RXV guy, so you may not get any reading in "tow". If you don't just be careful not to touch the wires together while testing. You can go back to tow to connect the SOC meter.

I tested the wires out the red is 48volts, the gray is 5 volts. I also found that their is a gray wire that comes off the main harness that is a Battery Discharge Indicator Wire. So between Both of you guys help and finding that diagram I think the wires match up gray from cart to Blue on harness.
