HELLO, My 2005 PDS cart just slowed down for about 100 feet and then just died. I checked all wires, They are good and tight and clean. swaped out soleniod, nothing. Put my old controller on, nothing. Soleniod does click. tried to test motor and wires were sparking. checked microswitch for petal and it works.checked motor wires for shorts, look good. Need help Please. My wife about ran me off when i came home 6 mts ago with the cart and if she can't go trick or treating with it all is lost. LOL Let me know if you can help. Thanks

Re: EZGo Died on the way home.
start by charging the batteries fully, than let it sit 1/2 hour and take voltage reading from each battery after that load test each battery and writre #,s down also write #,s after it sits before you load test.................post those #,s we can go from there .........check all cables evben back to motor look for any burnt marks or sooty cables things like that........it only takes one battery or cable to bring it to a stop...........any type of noise at when this happened and were you driving ( moving ) or sitting st a stop when it happened?.........post all the #,s............................................... ....

Re: EZGo Died on the way home.
OK I will put the charger back on it. I checked all the cables already and they seem good. I took the motor cables off the cart to check them because i couldn't see them otherwise. I will borrow a load tester tomorrow. the pack seems hot, geting 38.7 volts from it. I connected my laptop to the controler and it is reading no error codes.(DCX 400) I checked the micro switch in the pedal box,but how do you check the other thing in there?(the part that the shaft slides into) To answer the question, I was going full speed when the power seemed to drop for about 100 feet then it just died. no regen breaking or anything. just coasted to a stop. No Noise.

Re: EZGo Died on the way home.
I put 10" wheels on it. It came with newer trojan 105's (L7)and 4guage cables. Its not lifted. I did put heavy springs front and back and lights on it. I put a 400dcx controller on it. It almost never leaves the asphalt. It does not have big tires on it. Before charging, Im geting 6.4 or 6.5 volts on the batteries

Re: EZGo Died on the way home.
have you pulled and tug twisted each battery cable? have you looked at cables to motor make sure they are tight and nothing burnt looking.......is your controller flashing any certain codes at all? not sure if it has a reed switch but if so have you looked at it....it in the black box under seat the charge receptical box...........i,m not real filmilar with newer carts since i don,t see a lot of them but these are basic things to check...................................

Re: EZGo Died on the way home.
Here is my FIRST PDS question that I always ask. Is your reverse buzzer still hooked up? If it is, then you should of heard a series of "BEEPS", giving you a fault code for diagnostics. There will be a series beeps, a slight pause, then another series of beeps. This usually will start to "sound" during acceleration. This is not always 100% accurate, but it is the best start. If you are getting no fault code, then your controller may be bad. This is only if you have a STOCK controller. OOPS - I just read that you have a 400 amp replacement? If so, then an aftermarket may not give you fault codes. Are you still running the speed sensor from the motor to the controller? Also check to see where the motor control wires wrap around the battery tray, going to the motor. There is a metal "hanger" that the wires go thru - make sure that there is not any bare wires, wire damage or scrapes causing the wires to ground to the frame...

Re: EZGo Died on the way home.
OK checked the batteries. Im geting 6.6 volts on 5 of them and 6.5 on the other. The snap-on load tester said all batteries are good under load. they didn't drop under 6 volts. There is just a line that says good. I hooked the pc to the controler again and no error codes. How do you test the device under the floor mat that the accelerator pedal shaft slides in and out of. I did notice the last couple of weeks that you had to mash the petal a couple of times before it would go the first time. the micro switch tested good. all the wires to the motor are in good shape,no scrapes or breaks.
