Default RXV SOC Meter

Any one have the install instructions for the 610583 EZ-GO meter or some knowledge on how it works?

I have one that is showing as charged (above the mid range) when the batteries are at 10% (i'm measuring 46V on a 48V system).

Does this meter have to be plugged in with the batteries fully charged like that of a digital volt meter?

The gray wire that runs to the controller. Is that really a SOC indicator from the controller or a just a 5V output from controller to switch on the volt meter?

Thanks

I believe the Red and Black are the power to the meter and the grey is a a 0-5 volt to tell the meter SOC. If it is showing that high you either have a bad SOC meter or another issue.

KGSC or anyone,

From what I am reading here a digital meter requires that it be installed (supplied battery pack voltage) when the battery pack is fully charged in order for it to indicate correctly.

If an analog meter uses (the gray wire w/ 0-5v output) a voltage reference from a digital (the controller) source is it safe to say that the controller would need to be attached to the battery pack when fully charged in order for it to provide the right 0-5v output?

To my knowledge, the only SOC meters that care about when they are connected is the bar graph style. They have a constant voltage leg and a switched to turn it on. The digital don't care and the factory RXV round fuel gauge style uses 48 to make it work and the 0-5 to tell the %.

Anyone have info on how the 0-5v is provided. Such as controller internal workings and or schematics.

The repair manual diagnostic code portion talks about the 5v supply to the controller being a possible root cause.

After charging up the batteries guage seems to operate correctly at times.

One of the 4 batts never exceeded 11.7v. Maybe throwing things off.

11.7 volts is beyond dead.

Load test resulted in 4 bad batteries. Only 2 charged to 12.7v or 100%. After load test I had a discharged, 2 @ 25% and one at 50%.

Thanks for the inputs.
