Cart Building "Addiction"
My name is John and I am addicted to designing and building ezgo carts.
I truly like designing and building more then riding and enjoying. Is there a cure for this? I always say, "this cart is the one I want to keep" while I'm building it. Once it's done and riding perfectly I come up with a new idea for the cart I want to keep. Then I end up selling the current cart to fund the next cart with the new ideas. Recent example; I built a custom red 72v cart frame off restore because I wanted to keep this one a long time. I used six 12v T1275's under the seat between the frame and it looks almost stock like it came that way. A long travel suspension and all sorts of other items like Alltrax and custom D&D motor made it to the cart because "I was keeping this one". Build thread: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-txt-seat.html For sale thread: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/golf-...arts-only.html Then it happened again; I find new lithium batteries fairly cheap compared to most so red 72v cart went up for sale to fund 60v lithium cart. This cart was to be and is way better then any cart to date BY FAR. Super torque, high speed (35+mph), and mega run time (42 miles) lifted with long travel front AND rear, killer camo dipped body and new powder coated frame along with high perf parts like Alltrax and custom D&D motor of course are among the many upgrades. Build thread: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...txt-build.html For sale thread: ??? maybe soon Now I am contemplating a for sale post on local CL's because I think I can build an electric cart with more then 60 mile range. Why do I need so much range? Not because I ride that much, nope. My daughter does though and she does all the time. She knows when to bring it back though and care for the batteries. I really do it for the design challange I think. So I classify this as an ezgo addiction. That's why I posted in this forum section. . |

Re: Cart Building "Addiction"
My name is John also and I have an addiction to golf carts. They say the first step is to be able to admit it to yourself.
I feel so much better now that I got that off my chest lol |

Re: Cart Building "Addiction"
For general usage, the term addiction has a negative connotation. I'm addicted to coffee, but it doesn't affect my everyday life or health. Obsessions "can be" just as harmful as addictions, as far as life or health. As long as it doesn't interfere with your family, financial stability, or work, I say go for it. Most hobbies involve a certain amount of addiction/obsession. If your addiction keeps you happy, and doesn't cost too much time or money, why not? If you can do what you like and either break even or even make some money, even better.

I think there are a bunch of "Johns" here. Some just go farther than others. I currently own 5 carts and all of them are used yet still thinking of building a 48 volt cruiser.
