Default New controller/solenoid location?

Working on my first golf cart/huntin buggie build and had an interesting thought of moving the controller/solenoid under the front body cover. As most know, there is quite a space under the cover and behind the cup holders. Seen people cut in cargo baskets there. So here is what I was thinking:
1. build a mount for the controller solenoid. 2. mount the controller, could use one of the glove box spacers for solenoid if needed. 3. make an access door through the top cover. 4. cut vent holes below the cup holders to allow air flow from below to rise. Could even mount small fans to help with heat if needed.

Positives - free up space under seat for another battery, less exposure to dirt, mud, and water

Negatives - excessive heat possible, longer cables needed to connect motor and batteries.

Anyone ever done this, any thoughts/ideas/input (constructive or stupid)?

Just thinkin! Mike

The logistics of making it readily available, like under the seat, would almost certainly have an adverse effect on the look of the cart. All wiring would have to run under the cart, possibly exposing it. I also think the space between the two glove box pockets is smaller than it may first appear. You may get an alltrax, or other controller, in there, but the wiring, etc is going to make it snug. Putting the solenoid in a glove box just complicates the wiring process.
Why not look under the frame, above the motor. I believe there is more than one person that has done that, with reasonable success.

Here's how I mounted mine. I have a rear seat, and this wouldn't have been possible without HD springs, due to clearance to the motor.

I ended up rotating the motor and the cables on the controller, to improve clearance and minimize tight bends. You can see the temp sensor in the last pic.

One advantage to this location is I can easily see the controller's LED while driving.
